about

This is my suite for Mother Earth called "Gaia." It started life in 2003 as a work sketch for one of my solo ambient albums but "Part I" ended up getting the deluxe treatment by being recorded by Glass and augmented with two of Canterbury Music's finest artists: guitar legend Phil Miller (HATFIELD & THE NORTH, MATCHING MOLE) and vocalist extraordinaire Richard Sinclair (CARAVAN, HATFIELD & THE NORTH, CAMEL). Both had been brought over to the States to perform in the inaugural Progman Cometh Festival in 2002, and asked back for the final Progman Concert the following year. Thus augmented, the track was released by Musea Records on the album by Glass entitled "Illuminations" in 2005. Going into the studio and recording with these two major talents from the world of Progressive Music was a high point in the long, continuing musical life of Glass. And of my own musical journey.

Presented here is the complete Gaia Suite, as originally envisioned, in seven sections, 38 minutes total length mixed directly from the DAT master.

2003 also saw my first ambient performance at the 2nd Progman Cometh Concert. I was honored to have Hugh Hopper, one of my musical heroes, play bass on the live version of "Big Sur" from my first ambient album "Above and Beyond" (also available here on BandCamp).

This site is for Jeff's other music.

"His music comes to him from The Stream. When he sits down to play, he casts his line. Sometimes he has no preconcieved idea as to what he might find. He only knows the ideas will come to him-from somewhere.

As he composes, what he feels is The River of Life as it washes over him."
